In my home spot we have to launch from a promenade, so we always launch the same way Carlo did in the video, with the difference that there must be someone who is keeping your kite until it begins to go up. Very tricky but no other solutions...
get a wing
Toby this summer I promise I'm shooting a video, so that you all brothers can share our suffering during launch and landing. There is everything you can desire: a brick wall, a promenade with people walking between you and the landing place, trees and, last but not least, streetlights! :D

Downwind is the safe way, side window is kooky. Even kookier is people teaching these weird ideas, let alone expressing them here.

Back to the Sonic 3...

Took my 13m out for the third time on the snow. Wind was 15 to 20 knots. I did not have one tip collapse, even when I tried, I could not get the tips to collapse. Kite must have bedded in.

I am so impressed with this kite. I am starting to wonder if I still need a Soul 12 & 15? The 13 has better top end than the 12 and boosts almost as well as the 15 in similar wind, but is so much easier to self-land and pack up in strong wind than either Soul.

is no one going to talk about the presentation of the kite.

Mine arrived yesterday

Contents, repair kit, kite strap (for packing) it's a nice padded strap with a buckle and clip and a new ballast bag which is a durable dry bag which you can store stuff in to keep dry or fill with wet sand and be sure that it won't leak in the car on the way home.

Also, 2 bags! the main outer bag which is a really nice rucksack and an inner bag which you see in the vid above that Armin has next to his lounger.

Overall this is the nicest presentation of a Flysurfer kite I've ever seen. Really great job! it does feel like a premium product.
Ummm I did in this video a couple days ago.

well done.

Are you trolling?

In under 15 knots, sure downwind is fine but you will cover some distance. Side launch is the safest way when it's windier.

Actually, in my experience if you don't preinflate too much, it's rare to have a severe pull from a foil kite, it normally goes up slowly and does not pull too much until it's almost fully inflated. It obviously all depends on the wind, but if we're speaking about a 15 I presume the wind is quite light. That's what we do in my home spot, we preinflate a little, then the helper keeps the ears of the kite (folded in two) in one hand. Then the helper releases one ear in the wind while the launcher is tensioning the back line and the helper keeps the leading edge and the other ear. At that point the launcher pulls the front lines, the helper leaves the kite and that's it. I have to say that the launcher is normally staying in about 1 mt. of water, so a little bit less dangerous than being on the beach.

Not even slightly. Downwind is the best.

I am in the market for another 9mtr foil kite,
I am at flag from October to April, is your team planning to return to flag beach again? I would love to get a go on the 9 or 11mtr sonic 3, or both even,
have you any agents here in the uk who will have a demo sonic 3?
