Which would make a better kite for foiling in light wind on a large foil, Peak 4 or Marabou?

You really have to try to put these kites in the water. The low end limit will not be the ability to fly, but the ability to get enough power to get on foil and also to body drag out.
The open single skin is probably easier to swim with and also get all the salt and sand off in the event of a swim.
The closed LE is a nice addition. Gin publishes weights a little heavier than Flysurfer. More than anything, the closed LE would give confidence to try new moves where you might put the kite in the water.
I wonder if Gin is using a double braid or single braid bridle?

Neither one
Im probably biggest P4 fan on kiteforum but its just not light wind foil kite. Maybe downwinder wave kite. For me i need much more L/D to be fun in really light. From 12-13 knots peak is beast.
I think Gin will have better L/D than peak /from look/ but not anywhere near to closed cell kite. It also look that Gin is slower turner with handling closer to foil than lei - which was also in case of shaman vs peak4. Anyway im glad for this development! thubms up!
