I wouldn't want to walk on those rocks, let alone launch or fly a kite from them. Just one misstep....
It makes me appreciate my 11 minute drive to my local, empty, beach, with huge launch area. But I'm guessing from the palm trees, his water is nicer than mine.

I would not say i'll do it every day by pleasure, ot was that day in this configuration , but there was no real risk at this low wind (if your are a minimum used to walk/run on rocks).
I found the video fun to share

I put together a quick video of my last few landings with my PVC kite hook. All with Hyperlink V1 12 meter
First one, 17 mph day
Second one, 20 mph day
Third one, 12 mph day, very light winds only picked up later in the day, so I was fooling around with my camera and decided to do the demonstration video.
I'll probably add a bungie cord for a little shock resistance.

PVC Hook is looking better. I like the idea of a bungee anchor line. I would also bury the anchor just so you don't catch the bridles/lines before the PVC hook

Thanks for posting!
Yes. The sand bag is buried. That is the kite bag with packing straps inside, that I hook onto the anchor just so it won't blow away down the beach while I'm surfing.

I did that exact same thing, at 6-mile, about 15 years ago ; everyone
got mad at me, for leaving punji sticks on the beach !

I've been having great success for about a year now with the self landing stick with no signs of wear or damage to the kite.
After a little practise its very easy to lay the kite down on the spot.
Easy to make and packs up small.

I do like the idea of a hook, that can be deployed after your session so your not leaving punji stakes on the beach while your out.
I like your idea too. It's smaller and more compact. Might not work on rocky beach, but nice for the ocean by me. What kind of collapsible pole is that? I think I found it....
