I have concept air pulsions in 9 and 12 m. They both start earlier than the 8 metre Firefly. I can also drift launch them in similar winds to the Firefly. The only downside to those kites are that if they sit in the water for long in light winds I can no longer water relaunch them whereas the Firefly would still go up. Having said that as soon as there's enough wind to ride the Firefly I would rather be on it. for my style of riding I prefer it.

But they are two completely opposite kites...

Concept Air Pulsion in those sizes are for light wind.

Aquatik FireFly's are for waves and overall fun, whereas a 9 and 12 m2 Pulsion is for 6 to 9 knots of wind, and not for riding waves.

Anyone got the Pulsion in 6 and 3.7 m2?

Could be even better than both FireFly and Peak4 for waves

Peter, I have a Pulsion 6 metre. It is definitely not a wave kite. It sits very forward in the wind window and has big power spikes when diving it that drop off rapidly as it moves the edge of the wind window. It has very good depower. It drives upwind well and goes faster than I want on a surf foil. I prefer it as a snow kite. It is different to the larger sizes.

Thanks, you partly answered my question in the other thread about small single skin versus double skin kites :D

And why double skin performant kites aren't made in really small sizes.
As too small not needed for racing, and don't work well for waves and freeride.

Difficult to handle eventhough loads of power(spikes) and no easy drift capabilities.

I've been riding the Firefly's this past week and wanted to post an update.
I have the 2.5/4.0/6.0 but have not ridden much since late fall due to weather and various other circumstances.
Prior to last week I had never ridden the 2.5 and all three kites have had the v2 bridle update thanks to Ben.
I have not ridden the 4.0 since the v2 update but it was already a winner, can't wait to pull it out.
Rode the 2.5 multiple times last week, what an amazing kite. I was riding it in average 25 gusting to low 30's and it was perfect. Very fast/fun kite. Eats up the gusts, jumped on this when my 5m Ultra2 started getting a bit punchy. The launch was not ideal for foil kites but I can make it work (why I'm mixing Ultra's and FF's).
The big surprise for me was the 6.0 ... much much better with the v2 bridle update. Seems like range is improved and hardly any flapping when sheeting out. Also seemed lighter on the bar. I had not been all that motivated to use the 6.0 in the past, I never seemed to have the right wind on it, just didn't work great for me but that's all changed now.
If you're considering these kites you should not hesitate. No concerns about relaunch and top product support. Ben is a great!
Note these are fun kites, ideal for surf and playing around, not upwind race machines.
The pic is a friend catching my 6.0

I was able to pick up a barely used 6.0 FF for a very reasonable price. I had Ben up grade it to the V2 bridle and and it works well for my style of Foil riding. Small waves and 'play'. I find it has good drift and no flutter. I own 4-6-8 m FF. Looks like I need to add 2.5 m to the quiiver, Thanks for the review.

Rode the 4.0 for two sessions yesterday afternoon, first since the v2 bridle update. The update made my favorite kite even better.
Wider range and near zero flapping.
First ride was average 20, second average 24-plus.
My previous sessions of mid 20's on the 4.0 were generally a bit rough, getting yanked around or significant flapping after sheeting out, that is all gone.
These are such amazing kites!
Today will be another 2.5m day :thumb:

Couple sessions today on the 2.5, first avg 27 gusting to 33, second avg 29 gusting to 35.
This little kite eats it up, it's like cheating.
Hardly anyone else on the water and I'm on a foil.
If you get a chance, check them out.
Riding a Ketos 118 with 1000cm2 front wing.
Took out the gopro today but kind of shaky with the wrist mount. I'll see if I can get something reasonable out of it.
