I have been told early this week that Benoit Tremblay is finalizing its single skin concept, wave oriented.
Image
He woked on single skins years ago and re-worked on the concept this spring, oriented toward foil-wave application.

Knowing Benoit taste and skills to final tune kites, it should have glide and flight good cacteristics, hopefully

One proto should be received in France soon, i ' ll try to test it.
Regis, can you ask on http://www.lesfoilz.com/phpBB3/viewtopi ... 3&start=30 how it compares to the 4 meter Peak 4 as far as flight. I think he said the weights were the same (700 gm)

Thanks

First test of the wing around 17:30 in Marseille by South East foil 1200 strapless.
First, presentation of South-East Marseille ... This is my 2nd outing by this regime, the first was 3/4 weeks ago and I went swimming. It is off to side off, wind corridors are formed organized by the important reliefs to the South of the bay. The launch is rock & roll with effects on / off.
Today it was sales 4/5 knots and accelerations 20 / 25nds.

Quick unfolding, not much to do, bridging is clear in 10s, no sock to close ...... Fast deco, driving that requires a little attention with a new wing and quickly comfortable, in trust.

Like the Peak, a lot of flapping at the thrusts of the bar thoroughly, and no power either.
It's super stable, at worst it's like all the wings of Ben, it goes back in shape, to resume the next burst its place.

At the water!
Departure a little special with the wind in the back. I miss, it goes! The piloting is a little technical because I will spend an hour between 3 / 4nds to 30 in gusts in the wind corridors .... The nav is special because I have to read the water to anticipate the moles. The wing has a good bar pressure from 15 / 20nds, the steering is direct and precise .... top!
In the low range, the wing can retreat, but it is a pilot that I like that approaches the kite.
The low range of 12nds means Ben seems good, I was not trimmed in the slaps to 30, the wing had a lot of traction and hit but I was very relaxed. I did not trime because I quickly went to the low beach of the wing, so to re-test in the high beach.
The turn is precise and the wing is fast, do not sleep, there is pleasure driving :mrgreen:
We can vary from big loop in the manner of the wave 4.5 to get out of the water or rotations close to the axis in mode I go torch to have a little traction to slaughter.
The full bends on the flat swinging the wing in 20 / 25nds are a real pleasure, the power is managed precisely, depower is effective!
On the whole nav, not a single skit, the wing is not concrete like a 369 or a wave but it stays in shape without falling. I said it, she puts in confidence.
A launch, on an error, the wing to take off after 3s .... I am waiting to make an exit in good conditions to test this aspect.
No waves but flat today, and not too want to lose wind, but I do not worry about the retreat of the wing.

Summary test for the moment of the "FF" (certainly 2 letters of his future little name), but what I feel to judge the 2 small sizes from CA except PU369:

The Wave 4.5
------------
Implementation
Easy to pilot ++
Driving pleasure
Drift
Couple
Stability
relaunching ++
High Beach ++
Waves in 20/25
Fast storage
silent :)

The FF 4m:
------------
Implementation ++
Pilot technique in small size, it will be less in larger sizes.
Driving pleasure ++
Drift ++
Couple
stability ++
Low range ++
Waves 15 / 20nds
This wing is talking!
Fast storage ++
It appears we are approaching a new type of kite, excellent for surf.

same weight and hopefully a similar low end as a peak4 (while being water relaunchable) would be on my wish list

The kite has now a name: Firefly

The new 6m is in fine tuning stage and should be on its route to France in the next coming weeks:

i'd like to see what it does during lulls or when drifting.

..does it keep shape?
..or is it similar to larger waves?

Hi Stef,
thanks for the link, just seen the report from boZZo and balboxl, but hard to translate, interpret, especially when not knowing the riders, etc.

Can you already interpret a size / range comparision inbetween Firefly 4 m² and Wave 4,5 m² or even more interesting 2,5 m² and Peak4 3 m².

And maybe interpret something about general differences inbetween Firefly and Wave / Peak4.

For me especially real compfortable highend without to much flapping of the Firefly 2,5 m² to Wave 4,5 m² would be interesting.

Thank You

there are no videos of it depowered...??

in this unhooked video and literally *all* the cuts i've seen...the bar is always powered.

...was rigidity achieved in that design? ..or does will deform into that ball of string taco when you kite directly into it or push the bar away?
