Peak 4 fifth line bridal removal

Postby tomtom » Thu Jul 11, 2019 4:25 pm

I observed on my peaks that fifth line bridal transverse line start to deform wing tips. It looks like bulge on tip cell on bridal attachment point. Without bridal tips look much cleaner. I test kite and did not find any downsides. Could i remove these on all my Peaks?

Is there some structural purpose on this line like hold kite in predefined C shape like on some old Leis?

This is probably question for Armin.

Many thanks.

Ps. Obviously i dont want use bsafe line 😀

Just reverse the tutorial. You must used a front line safety.

Of course. Im talking about removing whole transverse line which is inside kite and serve to connect 5th line.

This line start to deform tip cells while flying. Can i remove it? So far my observation is that nothing bad happen without this line. /not 5th line but transerve line inside kite/

Of course you can remove it. You just won't have a safety line. Front line safety should work, though some of the A bridles look quite far back so I am not 100% sure how well it will, test it in light winds first.

Red one b safe. To foilhoilio. It is under quite tension inflight so it do something. I speculate if it is like on old lei cabrinha contra where it serve to stabilize arc. But maybe it just whole kite is little stretched and this line is too short for this new shape. Do not know. It looks ok disconected.

Flysurfer line plans are available here https://flysurfer.com/downloads/downloa ... /?dlpage=3

I wouldn't remove that line. In comparison my Peak3 12m doesn't have as good a shape as my Peak4 11m; or that line. The extra shape/tension in the 11m is the first thing I noticed.
Also love my 5m Peak4! SICK KITE!
