An ARC is the kite you want for true hands free. Could make a come back if made lighter for hydrofoils, but likely not. Slack lines you can't steer so basically hands free just with bar in one hand. Unhooked wave kiting is good but loss of depower and sheeting is not and then it is no where near as free as slack lines. Slack lines = same as surfing with no kite.

ARC's were the best drifting kite I have ever flown.
But needless to say to you (cause I know you remember) but massive wind range but horrible instant depower. I'd always get pulled on my bottom turn.
Not to mention, the god awful water relaunch. I'm not sure I ever had a successful relaunch with those things. Plus the beach launches I'd pretty much just pray everything went as planned.
For all that, I'll take the bridals any day.
But man I miss that drift!
