From Flysurfer only VMG2 registered for Olympics, no sonic 3. https://www.formulakite.org/equipment/e ... -2020-2024
VMG2 size from 8m till 23m !
But F-one goes there with 25m Diablo 2020!

That’s interesting they purposely left out the Sonic3. I wonder fly when the previous gens were included. Any info on the next VMG?

I got a chance to demo a Sonic3 13m recently and my wife was also out on our R1v2 13m - see video below. Note we had a bit of a drag race at about 6:50 in the video. We are usually about the same speed (both on Daytona foils) and clearly we are both foil racing learners (I drop every tack in the video, but made some later :). I totally love the Sonic3 for my level or riding, its awesome and my local race club allows any kites for all races so if I buy one I'll be using the Sonic3 in our local races. The main things I like are how fast the kite turns for a high aspect kite and how easy the kite is overall for the super high level of performance, its an amazing kite!

If you register a new kite, you are forced for different things like to pay for every sold kite even if you sell it to schools, beginner, ...
You need to pay production visits, share CAD-Files, If you want to change anything within the 4 years you need to ask IKA first, ...

Anyhow, as we have registered a new VMG2 which is our tool for Olympic 2024 we finally decided not to register Sonic 3.

But the Sonic 3 is very very performant. At buggy races we expect, that it will be even better if you have chanting ground as it is more universal.
At snow it is the same. It depends on the condition. On ice lakes, the VMG2 will be better. But on Snow, Hills, the Sonic 3 will be faster.

Cheers, Armin

Your promo video for Sonic is showing loads of footage on TT with new kite, are you targeting TT riders as well? Where would you consider that Sonic out perform Soul and vice versa?

Yes, the Sonic3 is for all foil kite lovers/experts. For sure Twintip as well.
Airstyle is a big part what the Sonic 3 will offer. Most people still ride mainly/only Twintip.
Even in our Company and R&D Team.

Cheers, Armin

From what I saw on the Baja it’s going to be a fantastic kite for big air twintip. After my work rotation I’m going to battle a lake with ice still on it because I’m tired of waiting. I’ll give my feedback both on tt and hf.
