IOC pledge - Tokyo 2021 sailing division

Postby grigorib » Wed Apr 01, 2020 5:11 pm

IOC and World Sailing are strong on message that Olympic games legacy should not depend on equipment costs. There's no price tag for being a champion, there's no price tag on winning. It's the athletes who matter, the athletes who fight and the athletes who hold the medals, not a piece of fabric or carbon.
As kite race sailing is making bold entry to the Olympics we want to have all countries, all continents to be part of the competition. The games are only 16 months away and there is still time to bring more regions, more racers to participate.
If you have new, unused gear - kites, boards, foils, bars which are properly registered with World Sailing - don't let it get covered with attic dust. Donate your new, unused gear through your local Salvation Army office and let that Mikes Lab wing fly under feet of aspiring athletes. Let the spirit win and be part of that victory.

Pass the pledge!

Well luckily foil kites are the cheapest kites to buy or own. Maybe we can have a Pansh class.
