Sounds interesting (though I suspect you refer to Fabsil?). Interested to hear how long it lasts. Would you mind weighing before and after to see how much extra weight it adds?

'He-who-must-be-repeatedly-banned' used to advocate watered/thinned silicon sealant. I'm guessing this helps keep it more air-tight, something that a lot of technical jacket proofers just don't need. I'm guessing a tent doesn't need that breath-ability either.
I liked the Fabosil name better. :) I have not weighed kite since I bought it. 1650g then.
I cant magine it added much. I used 2liters. Probably 25% of that went into the air during spraying. And its at least 90% solvent is my guess. So 1500g x 10% 150g.
I'll get back about effect. Going out Tomorrow.

After it dried 6hrs as instructed, it was more crisp feeling for sure. And getting stuff on hands I had to wash them with soap vigorously to get if off. I figured 30€ was small investment to get another year on kite. My cost per hour on this kite is lowest in 19 years of kiting anyway.

Ivd used the HL V1 UL 9m 2 times now after coating. I noticed first that the kite seems to have more pressure in it in the air. It's noticably more inflated. Sheds sand better too.
On the beach it holds air longer, but not as much as my newer v2 13m which is a pain to roll up it holds air so we'll.
Well worth the 30€ .

You said you never did the mixer test on your 2 y old HL. Just try the long mixer, shown in the vid. I bet you will feel a big improvement.

I've owned about a dozen race foil kites (chrono, sonic, sonic 2, vmg, r1v2). They seem to lose their edge for racing after 2 years no matter how much you tune them. However, they all kept flying just fine for cruising with some bridle adjustments.

My sonic 2 15m was the one I put the most hours on. I sailed it about 2 hours per week for 2.5 years (200+ hours) and then sold it to a local guy who I think is still flying it (probably another 100 hours over 2 years).

I think the sonic 2 has lotus top skin and deluxe bottom skin? No material issues. What material is the soul?

It flys just like it did when it was new. I guess I'll check it, but don't really think it matters.
