There is a seam on the top skin. It does not appear to be associated with rib or d-rib.

The seam is the same as on the other side where the colour changes into the ozone logo. I don't know why they make that seam though as it's kind of unnecairy extra work, but maybe something is easier with the CAD files, or the kite steers unsymmetrical if you have the seam only to one side which is the most likely reason in my opinion.

Interestingly Ozone have kept the Chrono V3 EXP as the snowkite Chrono and they've not released a Chrono V4 EXP. The Chrono V3 EXP has open cells and also has the internal re-ride system to quickly collapse the kite.

Does anyone know why Ozone decided to keep the Chrono V3 EXP for snowkiting rather than making a V4 EXP? Could it be something about the smaller number of bridles and bridle attachment points on the Chrono V4 that makes it less suitable for snowkiting or fitting of the internal re-ride system?

Probably it is just economical issue. V3 is good enough so why bother. And is there a real difference between V3 and V4? Quite a lot these new releases are that old back and forth play when kites are tweaked a bit so they can be sold as "new" kite.

Bridle points don't affect snowkiting use or internal re-ride. Less bridle is better or more advanced in general.

I 100% agree that the performance difference between V3 and V4 will be marginal. I also 100% agree that the tweaks are often just made so they can be sold as a new kite.

But I disagree that it will be more economical for Ozone to continue to make 2 different chrono models with different cell counts/ different bridle designs etc... I actually think having only the V4 design of Chrono (in both regular and EXP versions) would be easier for Ozone - hence my wondering if there is a technical reason why Ozone decided that the V3 design with more bridles and a few less cells lends itself better to the internal re-ride system? (perhaps more reinforced by the re-ride system?)

My red 11mtr V4 Chrono came yesterday, and I got a sail on it today in winds that would not bother a feather, and of course as with all my kites it was weighed before leaving the house, naked without bag,
it's lighter than the outgoing v3 11mtr chrono ulight that I had, 1.82 kg for the new Chrono, my old chrono v3 ULight 11mtr when brand new weighed in at 1.96kg,
interestingly my new 11mtr V4 chrono at 1.82kg weighs even less than my 9mtr soul (1.9kg) that I had a few months back.
My 13m Chrono V4 arrived today. The kite only weight straight out of the bag is 2.13kg (compared with 2.19kg for my previous 13m Chrono V3 Ultralight).

I also noticed that the Chrono V4 fabric has a different surface coating that is significantly more slipppery and shiny than the V3.

brilliant, I want a go! I am fighting the urge to buy either the 13 or 15 v4
my 11mtr has been used quite often now, 19mtr lines suit it so well, brings it alive, the new bridal lines have shown up one good point, the end of the kite where the v3 bridals could more easily get around the back and spoil the initial beach launch with a caught up wing tip, well the new bridal resists this as there is much less line slack around that point of the kite.

I'm sure the 15m would compliment the 11m very nicely... . I was very tempted to choose the 15m instead of the 13m but Im pleased with my decision.... just need to come out of lockdown so I can use it!

I'm jealous!!! would love to try the v4 in 11, 13, or 15. why are you on lockdown? are there places still on lockdown? you should go to Utah,,, it's like they don't even know about the pandemic

no demo's around here for me sadly. i am on older 7m hyperlink v1 ul and 11m v3ul. when it gets too much for my 7m, i must go to a 5m ufo. i have tried 7m ufo but still too powerful. i think that the 7-11 quiver is amazing but i often wonder if a 7 and a 13 quiver would work even better,,,, that 7m v1 ul can be used down to 10 mph i swear. in fact i love it at the low end.

wish it was easier to demo kites, sigh.

i sometimes wonder though how much i would really gain with a bigger kite than the 11m,,, i just can't imagine kiting in lower wind than what i can currently use the 11m in, doesn't even seem possible

The whole of the UK is in lockdown. Only essential travel is allowed... I.e. it's only allowed to kiteurf if you live locally to the beach. The lockdown rules start to be relaxed at the end of March though so hopefully I can test it then.

I don't think the 13 or 15m will give much of a low wind advantage compared with your 11m... the bigger kites will just allow you to use a smaller hydrofoil in low winds.
