It mean V4 is already as ultra light? No separate UL version of Chrono v4 will be released?
Yes. Chrono V4 is only available in one fabric -it's equivalent in weight to the Chrono V3 Ultralight.
its is actually lighter, I weighed my new 11mr chrono v3 ulight , naked and new it was 1.96kg
my brand new and naked 11mtr v4 chrono, new cloth, new bridals, more cells, is 1.82kg
had it out today in winds starting at12mph and building to 20++mph,
foilboard 120, with 633 wing set, flat water lagoon, feels very much as the v3 when boosting, sort of 2nd kick half way up, then pull in hard just to soften the landing to keep the board dry, will not fly downwind like the R1, but the frame is more stable, with a tiny bit of wing tip tuck if you spin the kite too hard and choke it, the r1 will easily tuck a wing tip if you do the same, getting up is so fast, the lift generated by a even a lazy over head forward movement of the kite lifts me hard and fast out of the water, I do need to speed the kite up though, my lines at 23mtr really do feel too long, today using them got annoying as I knew I was not experiencing the best the kite has to offer me,and I was sailing on quite a narrow lagoon with the wind blowing down the length, so really needed more speed through the air and turns.
its just too cold in my garage to get to work sorting out my spare bar with removable lengths to go down in steps to 15mtr, minus 2c today, brrrr!
had to self land my kite in stiff wind today and I do believe the small bridle prevented the lines balling up in a knot at the far wing tip as I had to flag out and walk up one front line and then pile on a load on sand to hold down the upwind wing tip, the downwind tip did flap but the lines stayed free from tangle, winner!
