Boosting technique for 18m Soul on water with Large TT Door (Lightwave Wing 165)?
Hi guys, another question from a relatively newer (and lighter 75kg) rider.
I understand most of this will come with time under kite and experience but I’d certainly appreciate any advice to boost on such a large slow moving kite?
I love my 18m Soul as a session saver for my TT.
I’m comfortable with basic boosting with tube kites (XR5s) and my 12m soul (although I have yet to nail landings). I haven’t quite figured out the best approach for my 18m Soul yet.
Specifically looking for tips about;
1) how low / high to send it from- before zenith?
2) how to maximize sending speed- whether to climb slowly then snap it?
3) how to minimize being pulled off my edge as it slowly climbs
4) best point to pull the bar- is it worth pulling a little earlier?
5) how much to sheet / feather the bar when flying vs keeping it sheet in?
BTW already have 60cm FS Infinity bar, kite is trimmed to sheet in fully without backstall, on std 20m lines and I have already searched posts on this site and kitesurf forum . I have not found much advice on this very specific topic.
Any advice would be very welcome- I know I'll figure it out eventually, but would appreciate some help to point me where to focus my efforts.
