Soul V2?

Postby RomeUtah » Sat Dec 19, 2020 3:53 pm

Am I imagining the mention of a new Soul being released in March, or am I late to the game?

The recently released Sonic 3 uses the same materials as the Soul, so no reason to bring out a Soul V2 for a material change.
In regards to performance, it isn’t a performance kite so little reason to bring out a V2 and is bloody good as it is.
Flysurfer don’t do annual model upgrades so the Soul V1 may be around awhile longer.
They might release a more freeride oriented range, maybe targeting the Hyperlink.

They added two sizes this year (7+9) so I don’t expect a refresh for at least a year from now.

Wow now that's surprising. Have a link to the article?

What I would except with the new gen: updated drainage system like Sonic3, similar bridle updates as well as S3(line quality and bridle color). Most likely some kind of new fabric update as well. It will be interesting to see, Flysurfer has done quite well with the Soul.

"The highlights in 2021 are going to be the introduction of a wing, a third LEI product line, a split board, and the successor to our bestseller, the Soul!"

Does make sense, they have to keep up with ozone and the soul 1 is 3 years old right?

hopefully,
lighter with the new fabric TXLight (great for those light wind hydrofoil days)
slightly higher AR? Maybe possible with improved internal structure,
would be nice with hangtime similar to the speed kites on the new soul version.
faster turning? maybe if rigidity can be improved...

Anyway really exciting if it's in the pipeline for the near future :)

When I recently talked to Flysurfer HQ, they said more like summer for the Soul 2.

c'mon flysurfer..
let's pick up the up the pace on this soul2
while i love my peak4s... (i got rid of all other kites)
i do miss flying short lines and not having an automatic swim whenever a wave catches the kite.

while i am trying to wait for an updated soul..."summer" might too late.. for the summer kite season.
(having it available before the summer season...is much much better)

My local dealer is currently being told end of April for launch. In his words, 'Launches only slip, they never get earlier'.
