The peak will sink single skin.
Flysurfer explicitly states that it is built for snow and land kiting.
Other foils you probably have 10-15mins before water starts to get in when the positive pressure drops.
On the website it say that it will release snow and dirt no mention of water

Might be hair splitting by me.. So Peak4 will not sink as such if *not* pulled under water by water current or by you or wave submerge it. Here is a long video sort of "proofing" it. Sure some airpockets left under the kite will help too. Peak fabric density is very close to water density - so actually water temp & density via temp might have some effect with water surface tension. Buoyancy will not lift kite in the air (out of water) but it will keep it on the surface. So yes you can sink it but physics term it will float. Sorry about this term clearing and hair splitting.

(BTW: What he's doing IMO wrong is he unwinds lines too slow from the bar - when lines tension Peak will fly and he gets two unintentional launches and kite crashes because he cannot steer the kite.)

Although it is close to the density of salt water, it IS slightly more dense so as soon all the air pockets are gone it will sink. although very slowly due to the large surface area, but it is not a given for it to stay close to the surface over days or weeks.

as a consolation - last time I was at Tarifa at Playa Balneario in offshore wind saw a loose Lei kite drifting off into the sunset never to be seen again....taking on a bit of water has its advantages

Takes a lot for a foil kite to sink, it becomes more of a sea anchor than anything. I have had my Peak4 3m sink on me before in wavy conditions. Really though it sits just a couple inches below the water. I doubt your Soul will ever wash ashore. Gone forever

Close friend, well know kite board foiler, almost 2 m waves, side on, 25 knts or so.
Single surface 4 m2 Concept air lost forever.
Kite just touched water, waves ate it up, sank fast, bar also gone.

i'vd had this years ago twice , standing on the beach landboarding , and pulling a sunken blade1 4.9 and another time where i dropped a sabre1 in to the water ,different kite same sanario- they don't pull out when they full of water , and i was i on the beach , i can't begin to imagine what its like in deep water , sounds scary and sad , both times i got the kites out with a lot of care , but it really does not do the stitching too much good , but i took alot of time getting them out just dragging them full of water

with the blade1 i had to go in the water up to my waist and try to lift it up and out , and they are so heavy when full of water
luckerly i have always carried a padded overall in the kangoo to throw on in times of wet clothes ,but i haven't done the wet clothes thing for many years :D

recently put my ozone chrono v3 ul in the water and abandoned it, light wind and small wind waves. slowly swam into shore with board, waited for kite to float in, it was still just sitting there with mostly air in it for 30 minutees, had some water in one of the tips,,, i am not sure how much longer it would have floated, 15-30 minutes maybe?
