Keeping all things equal, which kite is going bigger?

That’s a really good question. My highest jumps have been on my Soul but longest hangtime has been my Sonic3.

Depends on the rider. Soul is a littler easier to fly in higher winds(especially unstable winds) and much easier to launch in high winds. The depower is better on the Sonic3 than Sonic2 so you can hold it down better.

I think the Soul gets higher because it’s a little faster so you can send it harder and bar position isn’t as important.

If you look at the Woo leaderboard's Olly Bridge profile where noted, it seems like most of his recent highest jumps (25m+) were on 8, 9 & 10m soul.
His Sonic sessions where noted were under 20m in height.

Keep in mind I think wind speed is an important constraint. What goes higher at 35 knot vs 16 knots is going to vary. From anecdotal reports at lower wind speeds I have heard many riders claim to go higher with a sonic 3 than a soul.

I’d agree with that. Lower winds, the Sonic3 would win.

I bought a 9m Sonic 3 because I was so impressed with the boosting of my larger Sonic 3’s (13 & 18). However, the 9m Sonic 3 was not stable enough for the high winds where I live, tried several times, but every time was a joke. Ended up selling it, I have had great lucks with the small Souls in high wind.

In light to moderate wind, I have good luck with my 18m Sonic 3 with jumps regularly over 12m and up to 15m, better than what My 18m Soul.

I agree as well. In lighter winds a Sonic 15-18 with more speed and performance could jump quite easily higher than a Soul. The smaller sized Sonics takes quite a different technique to jump higher than a Soul. Theoritecally possible, but the smaller Soul sizes just so much easier to jump some very high as they almost jump the same way as a tube kite. They are also quite easy to heliloop from Soul 10 and 9 etc. Even Soul 12 is heli loopable but the timing is more important here. I love my Sonic 3 11 for foil jumping a lot. For foil jumping a faster foils definitely the Sonic wins in the right hands due to much higher speed and better upwind angles which are key for foil jumping. In twintip jumping the trick (as far as I could figured out) is more back and forth redirection of the kite to keep the kite quite enough in the power zone.

Cool! Thanks! Would you say an 11 sonic or 13 sonic is more like a 12 soul?

I would say the 13 Sonic is the one that is closer in the windrange. The top end windrange is surely the same. The bottom end could be better slightly especially with some line extensions. I loved my Sonic 3 13M on 22 meter lines and I think is the best with a 55 or 60 cm bar.
