elguapo come on, the thing isn't literally magical. (Is it?)

What foil do you ride in such a scant breeze? And how much do you weigh?

If it flies a lot further forward in the window, it can not drift as well.
You can't have both.

So now I am puzzled as to whether it flies far forward, or drifts?
As it is closed cell, I believe it could be the first, but if low AR it could be a compromise.

BTW, a Soul does not have good lowend, but great upper range.

Just received the Gin spirit 15M. Hoping it covers everything too light for my 9m UFO (8-14 mph). Here is a video of me flying it for the first time. It's my first time flying a foil kite and look forward to getting it out on the water. The wind was probably around 7-12 mph btw..

What kind of fabric is used on the Spirit? How much does each size weigh?

the racers were mostly on 21m diablos and VMG2's.. one other guy on a 15m ozone R1..and then me foiling on 8m (couldnt keep up with the 21ms.. but could stay close with the ozone)

backstalling to 12 oclock (to get upright on foil) and immediately into a loop works well (for me) at the low end...
..the kite creates sufficient apparent wind...just like every kite .. no problem riding as long as line tension is kept. (ie looping on gybes..may need to work kite on a lull)
lines were either 27 or 29m on the 8m spirit.
went out at the same times..and did this every day the past month.

weigh is 70-71kg.. foil is kai lenny's (MFC) hydros wing. .. size (i believe) is 1400 (might be a 1250).
board is an original kahana shapes pro macho

i will say i am bit meticulous about not getting kites dirty (avoiding sand and/or not putting kites in water).. and i am the weird guy that leaves his kites in a room overnight with AC set at lowest setting (so kite will be crispy and stay in air at lowest wind possible)

i will also say.. imo, any of these modern non-single skin foil kite bigger than a 10m or 12m in the air... an avg sized rider should be able to waterstart and ride on it

/means..the kite must be lightweight
//on a surf sized foil wing
///might need to use longer lines...to generate the sufficient power spike

sorry, i typed that "review" on my phone while waiting on a delayed flight (sorry for multiply typos) .. but i edited to say it does NOT drift like a peak4 (for example)

i like a kite that just sits there... but will provide that sufficient "peak" or power when called upon.
can get me back upwind.. but does not constant keep pulling like a tractor.

so far.. a 6m spirit comes closest to what i have in mind as my ideal foiling kite.

The planned use is to ride the 6m straplesss on a surf foil (along with 4m and 6m peak4s)
..and use the 8m and 12m on a racefoil (with helmet)
el guapo jaja (you remind me of my brother); how do you plan to choose between the Peaks 4&6 and the 6m Spirit? in terms of conditions, and foils or planing boards? I have single-skins that have a higher aspect ratio than the peaks (Born race star+ 3m,5m and 7m and use them with the 790 Moses foil); this do better upwind than the peaks, have more low end wind limit and drift very well (different than the peaks but grate for down-winds). The downside of this single skins for me are that they are not water relaunchable, that the bridles are a bit more complex than the Peaks and that the single skins have not helped me in wanting to jump (with hidrofoils or with tween tips) I have old Rebels but the inflation and pumps are less and less appealing (and deflation while riding on an old bladder) . I wonder how a 6m Spirit would complement my riding?

Here's some pretty unexciting video of the 15m Spirit twin-tipping in light winds, but gives an idea of the low-end performance (also includes water relaunch):

In really light inland conditions where the winds are not consistent (I'd say less than 6 kts), the kite will sag and spike a bit needing to be re-directed to prevent overshooting. But as soon as the winds fill in a bit it becomes rock solid. Even in these lighter, inconsistent winds if you can loop the kite to get started you will be fine and the kite behaves wonderfully once you get a bit of speed going.

The kite develops power probably better than any other kite I've flown; a lot of fun.

How is the bar pressure on the 15 Gin Spirit?
