Was riding my Sonic 3 13m the other day when The kite fell and bowtied after boosting.
I Tried relaunching for a few minutes and due to the lightwinds at sea level I couldn't get it to relaunch
I gave up and swam to the kite. The kite took on a good amount of water during this time..
Instead of rolling it up I opened it up Trailing edge down
I pulled on the front lines while unrolling the bar and to my surprise was able to relaunch .
This was all in deep water.. It took a lot of yanking on the front lines to get all the water out of the wing tips but after a short while it was up and flying again
Saved myself from a swim and dealing with a Wet , SANDY, heavy kite
Give it a shot next time and share your experience here !

Yes! Its amazing to see how tough situations can be saved if you persist.
One top tip is once the kite is unrolled and the water is draining: be very careful as one tip goes up not to let the empty wing tip fly over. Pulling the rear line of the empty flying side to backstall it near to shore will allow the full side to drain. Once the second side starts to fly be extra vigilant to keep line tension on the first side because the second side wants to bowtie until all the water comes out.

Exactly! I was fishpoling the bar on the empty side and pumping the center lines

About 2 years ago I bowtied my 21m Speed 5 when I swung underneath it during a botched jump and the kite hindenburged. The winds were around 11 knots, slight chop, no waves. After many attempts to get the kite sorted out and relaunch, and 20 minutes down in the water, I decided to self rescue. So I first started wrapping up the right steering line on the bar. When I got around 3-4m wrapped up the kite was laying on its back with no more bow tie. So I slowly let out the steering line and was able to hot relaunch.

its amazing how Soul can untangle itself and relaunch but on the other hand it is amazing how easy it does get tangles in light winds... Recently when I started foil in one sessions with windspeed 6-10kts I had more water relaunches than I had in 2 years of riding it on TT but it does give me some new experience how to handle kite when wind is light, pulling right line
