Soul lines packing

Please some advice for packing lines, I tried everything and some days I must spend 30 minutes to untangle. I dont disconect lines and that helps, but some days its really hard I had an Hiperlink before and no problems with the lines. Can you share your ideas? Thanks.

When I roll up my kite, I sloppily put the lines so when folded they are inside(mostly). I'll run the lines/bar out the front(leading edge) of the kite. Pull it to the end, again tucking the lines in, and roll it all up together. Hard to explain but that's the jest. As I said before, I don't put a lot of time into it. When unpacking the kite, a couple janks on the lines usually takes out any tangles that may arise.

Not any different than the Hyperlink really... The Hyperlink bridle is thicker and less prone to tangles indeed, but you should be OK with the Soul as well.
When I land the kite, I roll the lines up to the kite, then throw the bar over the kite about the middle of the leading edge. This puts most of the bridle over the kite. Then I fold and roll the kite and leave the bar outside (so that I don't get the kite wet and can rinse the bar easily at home). Put any bridle that hangs over the trailing edge into the roll.

When launching I do the reverse:
Leave the bar on the leading edge side.
Unroll the kite.
Throw the bar to the trailing side.
Unroll the lines.
Undo any clumps/knots in the bridle (just shaking them apart should be enough)
Launch

I saw someone at the beach rolling each end into the middle separately - like you might with an LEI. It looked a neat way to keep the bridles from each side apart. Haven't had a chance to try it to see if its better though.

in my experience, most of the tangles happen when you flag the kite on one line in strong wind and don't catch and fold it fast enough or just let it flap violently when parked on the beach.. I had my 15 tangled so badly in 20+kts only in 5 minutes after a normal assisted landing - it took me 5-7 hours over a few attempts to undo
my takeaway - try to land it and calm it down asap.. in strong wind you may end up folding it a half and rolling from the middle just to do it as fast as possible.. especially if seaweed or grass is flying..

Yes for not folding kite taco style and going from wingtips to center like LEI to roll and get air out
A friend of mine let me borrow for a few weeks his Soul 21m which i used a dozen times

Once kite is down on it's back and secured open up the vents and wind you lines on bar as you go towards trailing edge
Once you get close to the bridles stop and secure the wrapped lines at bar ends

Put the bar on the beach centered with the two open flaps about a foot away
Don't allow the bar to flip around and keep left on left side

Now separate left bridle and right bridle and put left of left and right on right spreading them out on top of the kite

Start rolling the kite and squeezing air out going from the downwind wingtip up to center
Reason is that most of the air in kite is likely still there and that in the upwind side of the kite the air has squeezed out quite a bit due to wind flow pressure

When done rolling from upwind wingtip down to center and all air squeezed out fold the kite in three from LE to TE
All air is out and bar is ready to be put on top of kite with easy for access for maintenance, rinse etc

Ready now for next session
Put the kite on beach
Put the bar on sand left on left ( a foot away from TE )
Unfold the kite's three fold
Unroll the upwind side of kite if like me you like to do side launch
Weigh upwind wingtip
Unroll the downwind side of kite
I also like to weigh that wingtip too
Reason is that it makes it easier to verify and separate the bridles and you unwind the lines on bar
The kite does not all bunch up
For a 100% no errors unwind all the lines ...put bar down and walk up the left side separating front and back lines all the way to bridle
Shake the left bridle a bit making sure all is correct and look also at the very thin white lines making sure no knots have formed
Do the same for the right side

It should all come out perfect every time
Sure works great with a big ram air

I find that the best method for avoiding tangles with foil kites including the Soul is:

Fold the kite in half as if you were going to roll it up

Wrap as much of the bridle as possible around the Bar with just enough room for the bar to reach the wingtip

Make sure all remaining bridle lines are inside the folded kite

Place the bar on the wingtip of the kite and roll up the kite around the bar.

I find that I Get much fewer tangles with this method

I have good advise that I’m surprised none came up with before, once you roll you lines put your bar in socks type bag for a bar and then roll bar with kite,
Before I had came up this method I always had kite thin line wrapped around bar depower, chicken loop etc,. Now I unroll lines nicely and only have to rotate bar clock or counter lock wise few times and kite is good to go.

It’s still a bit longer than setting up LEI kite but hey it’s way faaster than it used to be!

Finally an occasion to describe my way of packing I disconnect the kite from the bar at the end of the session most of the times as I do not know what size I will fly on my next session and I only have one bar and 2 Souls (10 and 15 combo works well for me). After disconnecting the kite the canopy is sort out and then I put together left front and back line and do a simple knot (close to the metal connection rings) so the lines are tied together. The same applied on the right side. Then I put the left lines through the loop on the left deflation vent (that loop that helps you to open the deflation vent) and do the same on the right side. After that I tie left and right lines together with a simple knot. I do not make the knots too tight as a loose knot is OK and easy to undo. Then it is easy to pack and unpack the kite without tangles.

With the kite opened up i put all the briddles in up to the conecting lines, leaving only the bar out.
Then I roll from both tips till the center (like a normal LEI)
99% of the time i get no tangles
