The Connect 2 bar isn't much different to the previous Connect bar. Some small improvements but the previous bar is fine.

However if you are buying a previous model bar don't go too far back in time. The very first version of the Connect bar was never designed with foiling use in mind and didn't have enough volume in the floats to stop it sinking
Later versions of the original Connect bar were modified with enough volume to float

Does somebody have the Connect 2 bar? The Flysurfer site is not that clear on what changed/improved form the previous. It looks like it's got a blue 5th line of slightly different material. But if that's all I might buy an older bar at a discount.

Just in case:
When i google flysurfer connect bar it links me to the old bar, the new bar can be found through the menu.

The new connect bar seems to be convertible to a 4 line bar.

I found a good deal on a 6 meter Peak 5 with a Connect 2 bar so I went with it. I'll update if the bar is actually updated, to me it looks the same.

Based on your experience, what is the range of the Peak5 4mts and 5mts? I rode the Peak5 4mts 2 days ago and I think I would have more range with a 5mts...I weigh 88 kg and I have Sabfoil Onda wing. I think I sailed with a range of 12-18 knots. The thing is I don't know if a 5mts would give me more drift on the shore where it was less windy
Another option would be to use a bigger wing.

Get the 5m Peak5. A bigger wing won't get you out of the water onto the board.

Rule of thumb with the Peaks is that it just needs to get your arse out of the water, from their you'll find it easy to get foiling. You won't regret getting a 5m, it will save you using your Airush Ultras

The question was not focused on getting on the board with the 4mts Peak, the question is whether the 5mts has better drift than the 4mts in the low range.

Here is how drift works with any Peak kite:

The kite flies fine and is easy to control down to about 2.5-3 knots.

Once you go below that level of apparent wind, the kite will not fly easily and might even collapse.

Once you understand this aspect of operation, it's easy to understand why you reach a point of diminishing returns as you move to larger sizes.

Really, this limitation is true for any kite, and It only seems magical because the Peak kites can still fly and be controllable so well in extremely light wind.

So, the questions to ask are:
What wind are you riding in, and how fast do you expect to go straight down wind?

It's simple subtraction...

As long as you still have that 3 knot buffer left over in the apparent wind, you're golden, even in the largest sizes....

Yesterday I found out the low end of the 6m Peak 4. I could not get going in 8-11mph wind. I was up once or twice for a minute. It was super hard to create enough power to get up over the board. Not complaining, I knew the 6m will have a low end limit. I ended up pumping my 9m Neo and the additional power spike got me going on the first try. Nevertheless, I ended up swimming back as the kite dropped from the sky after my first jibe. Stupid rider mistake. After the kite got wet, there was no way to go out again. Anyways, got frustrated as my friends were just barely riding on 10m Core Xlite and BRM Cloud 8m.

So now comes the question. Would an 8m Peak 5 do the trick to extend another 1-2 mph down? Or should I simply look for a Cloud for these super marginal days? I am hesitant to pull the trigger on the 8m Peak, they seem to not have the needed power spike to get going. How is the 8m in comparison to the 6m? Probably pretty slow.

For me, I see the 8m Peak as a 12m LEI, Single strut or 3 strutter. So it's a bit slow, of course not as nimble as a 9m LEI, but it provides the extra little bit at the bottom that you sometimes critically need.
