Would start a new thread, as there was a 2728 post / 271 page long thread about Peak 4 started by Horst, great.
Better to have a new thread about Peak 5.
Sizing has changed for the smallest, so we got a 2.5 m2 now and can ride in same conditions as we do with our smaller tubekites on waveboards now, great.
Differences in short, as I can read:
Lighter
Tighter turning with constant pull
Less flapping
Camber can be changed
New colours
New Connect bar

That looks super nice. It looks like the Peak may have caught up to the Gin Shaman V3 which also has hybrid/closed cell wing-tips, a reduced bridle and less flapping and better upwind/lift-to-drag performance than Peak 4 IMO. As a Gin distributor I am also happy/relieved to see that they haven't gone with a hybrid leading edge so the MarabouV2 that is coming out in April will still be on its own as a single skin for the water in terms of water relaunch. I love the Peak5 colours and TX-Light is one of the next generation of ultra-light super-tough fabrics that hold shape and perform incredibly well. Our free-race kite is made of similar material (our fabric is called Myungjin - not as sexy a name) and the MarabouV2 will be made of the same next-level fabric which is showing in testing both in the lab and real life to be super durable and high performance making heavily used kites feel brand new for a long time.

The p5 seems to have an extra row of bridle attachments in the unstructured mid/rear section of the canopy, which will help control the rear of the kite from flapping as much.
Their blurb states that the p5 has more power, but hopefully the 2.5m will allow a higher wind range than the p4 3m. I would prefer good power on downlooping for waterstarts at the low end, but greater ability to dump power and drift for when riding swell. I’m looking forward to finding out next month. My peak4s have had a lot of use in the close to 3 years I’ve used them, but they are still in good working condition.
I would like to see the wing tip cells closed cell, rather than open, so that they hold more structure when overpowered or if it hits the water.

Not sure about the sizes ..4m-2.5m is a huge gap
I could ride 4m up to 25kts but 20 kts is nicer..

Looks like they're still doing colour pairs which is a thumbs down from me. Rest sounds good. I'm considering jumping the peak ship to a Koala 5m, so can't wait for some ride reports.

Out of curiosity, why do you want a soft and drifting (sitting deeper) kite for jumping?
If it was good for jumping, it would not have the nice behaviour regarding drift and stability and handling in ridiculous gusty bad wind.
You can not have both IMO.
A strutted LEI or a doble skin foil kite is way better for jumps.
Or is it the ease of a single skin you like so much that you would like a kite for a different purpose than Peak owners?
I do too, like the ease of no air in/out struggle and time consuming - but dont jump.

I'm keenly awaiting my shipment from Flysurfer. However COVID and supply chain issues have meant delays and shortages of stock
I still have some Peak4 kites in stock however.
The performance characteristics of the Peak5 should make it even better for foiling, building on what was already a fantastic kite in the Peak4. The new 2.5m size should give lightweight kiters like myself an even better top end. Can't wait to give them a try
I wonder if there's anyone who has actually tried one of these kites. I'm thinking of you Horst ...

I like so many aspects of the Peak, some contradict boosting characteristics and some don't.
For example:
Packability for a swim in
light weight
simplicity
Fun Factor of flying ( a bit less fun for higher aspect but still more fun I think )

New feature of the 5. Can somebody explain what that means?
The mixer features the two-ring camber trim system. Moving the rings changes the relationship between the B or C level relative to the A level. The profile of the foil kite can be trimmed to be either flat or curved.
