Flysurfer Peak 5

I've had all Peaks since gen.1, and theres been quite a few changes through the generations, I wouldn't say this last one is so big, more in gen1 -> gen2 and gen3 -> gen4

Well quick report on the low end of the P5 6m. Went out today just to see what it could do. Wind was reporting 6kts with gust to 8/9kts. I'm 82kg, was on the Moses 633 with a 100cm board and using 15m lines.

I knew there was gonna really be no chance but I was out there so I figured I'd give it a try. It took a bunch of effort but I actually got up and foiled for a brief amount of time on an couple occasions. Not enough to turn or do anything though.

With a larger board and longer lines, I might have made a little of an actual session out of it. VERY impressed.

I've added a small rough unedited clip today with my struggle. Shows you the turning and loop speed of the 6m and you can see the wind. I did eventually get up...barely lol

Really impressive as for 15m just lines and such low wind. Of course peak5 6m looks really live on 15m lines, but probably on usual 21m lines it turns more with lag. Still seems that person with 65kg and 21m lines will foil easy on such conditions. Looks really powerfull kite!

Or is it your "go to" lines, so you wouldnt bother changing bar/lines?

I was out yesterday with the 3 m2 on 15 m lines, in really lightish wind for that combo - possible to ride, but carving you lose the needed powerstroke to keep foiling easy, so eventhough it could be looped to get up and ride, it was not that good overall

Just my "go to" line length and all I had with me at the time. As I was struggling, I kept thinking I wised I brought extensions. Could have used that longer power spike significantly.

On normal lines looks quite sluggish 6m. Still wonder why only 43 sec record? Such big luxury to record 3-5 min of video:)?

By the way i can’t understand why Flysurfer hiding technical data of Peak5 ? No info provided in their website about asoect ratio, surface m2, cells, flat lenght, weight and etc. Why?

Most likely they are just behind a little, give them a little time. They're still working out supply chain issues(smaller sizes are suppose to hit stateside soon) and I'm sure once they get caught up, it will be updated on the website. What are you specifically looking for? I can try to reach out and get some answers for you. Also the FS Facebook group is a good resource to reach out to as well.

Take a look at the Flysurfer website for Peak 1 and 2 and 3 and 4, all data is there, impressive.
Assume the 5 will come, but has just been released.

I dont care a rats ass about these specs, as it is a low cost open cell single skin kite, so you have to fly it, to have any idea of feel and characteristics.

Its a kite used for snow and for carving/wave fun, so specs are IMO almost useless, one can not compare to other kites by specs at least.
On expensive double skin race kites it makes a lot more sense yes, eventhough one can still not compare performance at all.

In general it is mostly for us "number nerds" to look at the specs, and nothing but that for such kite types like Peaks and Firefly's and Caspers and Nasa/Long/Street Star's which can all hang in a lot less wind than you can ride, and lower aspect kites
But also because they HAVE the numbers, so a good service to display these.

As said, I think specs will come, and one can even see the weights here from 1:40 (they always write bridles and mixer included):
