Used peak4 6m for first time out of the bag in 8-10kn and I felt it didn’t had the wingtips totally opened. Does it require any tweek or bridle check before flying?

It could be the span line, it has been too short on some of the 6 m2's it seems (from another thread).

You could just disconnect the span line in one side - you dont have to remove it fully - and fly it again, if problem is solved, make it a tad longer till tips are "nice" again.
Mine needed around 2 inch / 5 cm.
I flew my 6 m2 without span line though, most of the time, but would advice to just make it correct length, a tad longer I assume.

I took a picture of a too tight span line (left picture), and without/or with correct length (right picture):

I had the same issue with wings folding on my brand new Peak4 6m. When I checked the lenght of span line ( B-Safe0 and two B-Safe1) and compared it to the Peak 4 6m kite line plan I noticed that it was a few cm shorter than 4483 mm as per the official Peak 4 6m kite line plan. Then I tried to use 5 cm extension but it did not solve the problem completely.

I got interested in this and used Flysurfer offical line plans for Peak 4s to compare the lenght of corresponding lines on different kite sizes. I assumed that the ratio of total lengt of strap0 + 2x (strap1+strap2+strap3+strap4) to span line ( B-Safe0 and two B-Safe1) would be more or less the same for different kite sizes and I used line plans for 5m and 6m to compare.

TLDR: Based on my calculation the total lengt of span line ( B-Safe0 and two B-Safe1) for Peak4 6m should be approx 4642 mm.

For my kite that had the span line ( B-Safe0 and two B-Safe1) that was 4463 mm I would need to instal extension of approx 179 mm. Note that I have not tested it yet due but hopefully this should work. It is possible that the Peak 4 6m kite line plan has got some typo but when I tried contacting Flysurfer directly about it they were not interested to investigate it or to comment on it and just reffered to me to the Flysurfer website and the kite line plans that you can download.

You could check you 6m's spanline lenght against Peak4 5m lineplan. If line lenght matches factory has installed wrong spanline to 'blue kite'.

Do you think you could leave out the 5m and just bring 4m and 6m to the beach? Thinking about changing to 4m and 6m peak5.
Absolutely. I started with the 6m & 4m. Then I was persuaded that I should have a 5m by Peter F :-?

The 6m is a lot of fun ... within the limitations of the wind it's used in. Yes, obviously it's not as fast & agile as the 4m, but in 10 - 13 knots it's perfect. The 5m doesn't feel that different from the 6m - it's a bit less powerful & a bit more maneuverable, but feels very similar, while the 4m is a different sort of experience altogether. I did a lot of foiling in 10 - 15 knots this year - the wind is often up & down which means if it was 10 knots when I started, but then picked up to 13- 14 knots I might be able to use the 5m, but it wouldn't make sense to come in & switch because there no guarantee that the wind won't drop down again. If it hits 15 knots + you know it's definitely worth coming in to switch to the 4m. The wind range at which the 5m excels is 13 - 14 knots, but that is certainly doable with the 6m also. It is nice to have the "perfect" Peak size for the conditions, but the conditions can be pretty variable within a session, so it's not always obvious what the perfect Peak is. If the Peak 5s have a little bit better range that would be quite useful.

agree with @Flyboy..Instead trying to guess 5 or 6m for variable wind you are better off going with 6m and coming back to change to 4m if the wind picks up..It has very little to do with experience, just the local conditions and if you have the patience to change kites. More kites do not mean better ..not for me as I have to have another bar so the total cost is kite+bar and then you risk owning more older version kites. Keep it simple 3/2.5m, 4m and 6m

How do you think for lighter Foiling experienced person (66kg) 6m peak can work normaly In wind range from (8)9 till 15(16-17) knots with standart moses 633?

I would imagine the 6m will work well for 66 Kg at 9 knots - 8 knots would probably be pushing it a bit. At the other end I don't think you'd want to be using the 6m at 15 knots, let alone 16 or 17 knots. You could do it, but it wouldn't be much fun. At 14 knots you will be fine on the 4m.

I imagine my use distribution graph would look something similar to Peter's in the first post.... and I don't wing. My 5m has the most time on it, but it was also my first Peak. The 6m was my main snow kite last year, but I have since picked up an 8. Used it once on water to test it and have not flown it since, but am anxiously awaiting decent snow conditions.

For sure you can make the jump from 6 to 4 but I really like having that 5m and would recommend it to anyone who foils as their main form of kiteboarding. The 6m tops out where the 4m starts, but they are so drastically different in speed and you end up going from overpowered to barely powered. I like having power at hand without stressing the kite or flapping so my 5m gets a lot of use. I also fly them on different line lengths which helps to further differentiate their range.

I have definitely had minimalist phases in my kite career, but have settle into a type of riding that truly suits me and am happy to have the range with no gaps. Spreading out wear is also a not trivial consideration with single skin kites.

This is what convinced me in the end. It does very much depend on what your local wind conditions are. My Peak year comprised a lot of light wind sessions where the 6m was the obvious choice. Some of those sessions I might have be been fine on the 5m - perhaps better - but it only takes a shift of a knot or two up or down to favour one kite rather than the other. It's how long lasting that shift is that determines whether it's actually worth switching kites. My (82 kg) experience: 10, 11, 12 knots you want the 6m. 13, 14 knots you could still be on the 6m but might prefer the 5m. 15, 16 knots you could still be on the 5m, but might prefer the 4m. Fluctuations between those wind speeds during a session (which is pretty normal) make the choice of kite pretty hard to pin down.
