Sonic 3 long mixer

Postby Ice101 » Sun Jul 03, 2022 11:41 am

Does the sonic 3 have marking for long mixer test usually?
Just bought FLYSURFER UK’s ex demo 13m off them. Lovely wing, but slight issue with left side wing tip folding (left side when looking up at the kite)
I have looked in the book it’s shows the short mixed which i have done this morn. Hopefully that will have sorted it though was only -about 1cm out so should make a difference really. But on my soul I always done the long mixer. Can’t find the black marks for the sonic 3 on the z line and a lines. it doesn’t look like the bridles can be done like that?

Hmmm I have done the short and long mixer on my bee sonic 3 13m and still getting tip tuck only on the left hand side. Struggling to work out why? Seems to be a little worse since I corrected the mixer for some reason.

Which way do you jump the most?

Nice video thanks! I have a few Sonic 2 kites which are getting out of tune after a couple of years use. Did anyone perform a long mixer test by a similar method as in the video? Or otherwise, how is it done?

I saw the lines have reduced length by a few percent at least but do not feel like completely replacing the bridles.

Yes, I did a 15mtr Sonic 2. But you need to measure your bridles and compare them to the line plan. Now you don’t need to exactly match the dimensions on the line plan, but if the line plan difference between A and B is 2cm, then make your bridle difference between A and B 2cm. The actual total length doesn’t really matter, it’s the difference that is important.

Here is a video showing the procedure. I have a spreadsheet for the 15mtr if needed.
