I think if guys multiply number of ribs, both inside the closed cell section and behind it as well - kite shape would be more streamlined. If you look at Ozone XXLite, it’s as clean as any other wing and I used example of XXLite talking to Armin about funny wingtip shape of earlier Peaks.
Hybrid is an awesome concept, I hope it develops
More cells and ribs mean more complexity, more material (weight), more lines and keels (causing drag and working against the goal of lower drag) and much more costs in manufacture. These kind of kites are not meant to be high performance kites because freeride foiling does not need much performance from the kite.

So there is no difficulty to design much more streamlined (hybrid) kites - I could do it today - but it is another question if it is reasonable.

The concept of hybrid I see a bit problematic, there is a risk to combine bad properties of ss and foil kites. This new one does not look very smooth and some small foil kite like Pansh Hawk certainly offers better performance (in traditional sense) for a fraction of price

I don’t consider these particularly close in the grand scheme of kite colorings and the design of the colors (angled versus lines) is totally different.

Slight thread drift: when relaunching the peak do you go to safety or just wind up the lines hoping it won’t relaunch while your winding in or out?

It is either restartable or not. So no neeed to go to safety if is not. I dont use and have any safety on Peaks /except QR/.
You can make it unrestartable on purpose. Just fill it enough with water ie. sheet out while kite in water LE down

When winding in the kite is not relaunching. While drifting out the drift is reasonably slow. If you are concerned, wind up with the back lines pulled like you are trying to land the kite backwards. Flagging the kite will pull it out of position when it drifts away.

Yea not really. Different shaped wingtips, different shape canopy, different cells and different ribs, and I would put money the bridle is much different as well. Hell even the color isn't the same. Do you mean copy that they are both kinda bright yellowish or the same as they are both kinda D shaped and 4 line kite lol

As long as they don’t copy the price of the Marabou…
