I have to say that I am a little frustrated with Ozone.

Details matter - if you give a kite to your top big air rider that he then promotes on Woo, Youtube, and elsewhere as a big air kite, the customer should be able to buy the same kite. I shouldn’t have to mod an R1 V4 for big air. It should be available to buy or Ozone should ask their riders to only promote it as a race kite.

All that being said the stock R1 V4 is a boost machine. So, Ozone you decide how you want to go from here. Perhaps, the Chrono 5 will satisfy big air enthusiasts and Jaime Overbeek can promote that kite or you do a special edition of the R1 just for big air. But promoting a race kite for big air is not a good idea.

Literally every foil kite used to a High Performance, racing or boosting is modded

No one is using a completely stock out the bag Kite on a race course.

No one is suggesting that the v4 needs modding only if you can’t mange the bridles properly,

I am just going to replace the bridles as they break.

The R1V4 definitely behaves better in gusty wind compared to the Chrono. The Chrono suffers from tip collapse in gusty conditions, the R1 seems to be mostly immune. I have no idea why.

Other than the lesser stability, the Chrono is a solid kite!

Also check the D-ribs on the middle 6 (3 on each side) on the A bridle attachment points.

On the 15-21m they made these out of ultralight material, this is stretching to the point that the reinforcement sticker is peeling off that can lead to the D-rib ripping off.

Better do a preventive patch up than waiting for a repair. 7-13m are unaffected as they used thicker material on the internal ribs.
