Did you get a chance to kite the cays?

Maiden cay is a short boat ride from port royal
And you are there.
It’s pretty nice there.

How regular is the wind then ? I have been to Cabarete 7 times now and always wondered why more don't go to Jamaica. I guess the main reason is the beaches tend to be quite narrow, and there is no support if thing go wrong (seemed to be very few boats and no back up at all).

I think cabarete probably gets more wind.
As you can see from this map, north coast has to get whatever passes over and between Haiti/DR , and Cuba.

Dec-feb are pretty steady, after that there’s usually
Still wind but it’s a little less reliable.

But south coast , doesn’t have land mass blocking the wind so it’s usually more consistent.

When you go out to the cays , you can hire a boat guy to stay out there for the day if you
Need a rescue boat.

Yes has been very windy in the UK this year... it's chilly water. You need a 5/3mm wetsuit most of the year and a shorty (2mm) from June to September. Those Keys by the airport look amazing.

I think you were fortunate to 7/8 days of wind
During dec-feb is very good , I usually don’t go more than a couple days in a row without wind.
I'll keep that in mind for next time. Smaller kites! 😎

I did get to kite that day.
Heavy clouds rolled around 3pm , and killed the wind shortly after that.

It was great before that , though.
