Hmmm ... 12 pages of messages if a pro athlete gets injured but if somebody dies because he/she couldn't release the threads are typically much shorter.

I feel sorry for Ruben but the 0.1% that throw 50 foot mega loops and turn the bar by 90 degrees (!!!) and touch/move the quick release need a different setup.

99.9% of kiters have had no issues with the V4 Click-In Loop, even with powered moves. It's by far the most convenient one to disconnect and re-assemble. I always disconnect that way instead of fiddling with the chicken stick. This also builds muscle memory and one day it will be helpful when I need to release in an emergency.

I did. So if you don’t believe Rubens explanation, and the video which shows it happening, plus the later one where he explains it further, then refer to the above. Which do you think - misguided or lying? If it’s the latter then you presumably think he is content to put the lives of other kitesurfers at risk.
So you think it's a good idea to let people ride with a release that's on a hairtrigger?

It's not 90 degrees and totally unneccesary... he twists the bar around the PU, the angle stays the same that way. You pull the line a bit more because of that twist, but so you do the other line, negating the effect.

My guess is he was preparing for a backroll.

The reason why there are 12 pages is exactly the video proof of such an accident which could easily result in his death.

Never in the history of kiting there was a video taken by the rider into his final moments. Not that I know off.

Imagine the speculation if he died? Just imagine that and the number of pages after.

Imagine if someone recorded a vid clearly showing the kite LE exploding in jump apex.

Would we think twice? Or would we take the rider word like it was over pumped?

Seriously? Would you?

Essential question is will Ruben continue do megaloops with this exactly Ozone QR again ? If course we will not get answer from Ruben. But i think he will not do it. When he will come back this will be after one year i think, will be new edition of Ozone gears and i definitely think with updated QR red plactic sides design or maybe event all QR. We will see it in any case and than will be the answer.

Whether Ruben will have a rethink (assuming his ankle recovers enough function for it to happen at all) and whether the QR malfunctioned are 2 different things. And it does not open on a hair trigger. Release force is directly comparable to the latest offerings from North/Duotone and F-one, both of which I have used as well as the V4 click-in loop.

Not really, no.

There is no evidence that any force was applied.

The release force is way different under the load and not loaded.

We all know that.

What I want to see is the third party testing. Nothing less, nothing more.

My Ozone Cat ripped all the way after the water impact. Ok, I can live with that. My fault, slammed it, fine.

This? No fricken way. Not even remotely a rider fault.

It would mean every time you fishpoled the bar, the risk exponentially raises.

As someone suggested to me privately on the PM, "let go" and than continued on personal level.

This has nothing to do with me. Everything to do with rigid testing.

I have posted pictures there of ozone QR of this red plastic which has to big edges which causing release if its brished with hand. This is point of this accident. Not release force, but not right red plastic button construction design of to big edges at the top end.

I guess by now we all understand how lucky the riders have been at KOTA events.

One problem with gear...

12 pages of mainly bashing Ozone QR bar but no other kitesurfer mentioned to have any unintended QR incident, unless there is a huge conspiracy among people "had problem with ozone QR" and being pay big bucks to keep quite.
Fanboys of other brands sometime enjoy bashing competition to feel superior for chose something that "is better"
