Yes probably not a great example of how to do things.
Rolling out the lines while the kite drifts away is pretty tricky. If the kite drifts faster then you can unwind the lines you are potentially in a lot of trouble. Also you better be damn sure the lines where rolled correctly so you don’t get crossed lines.
So I would never recommend anyone doing this when there are a lot safer ways to launch a kite (especially this spot seems super easy).

And then there is the leash on the foil....

Foil leash to kite leash? That's what Neil Pryde advises? What could possibly go wrong?

Unrolling lines after letting the kite go is pretty dangerous. Don’t do that.
If your kite could be relaunched just with one outer line it’s not as much of lightwind either.
Don’t ever use foil leash when kiting until you flagged out the kite and swimming in.

What a hideous ugly huge board too.

Two outer lines pull, reverse launch to do it right in light wind.

Nice video. Y’all are a little harsh. For that location and conditions, his choices seem fine.

Let’s see your video?

One doesn’t need to make his own video to prove that cutting balls off is a bad idea. Above video is misleading and dangerous as informational material. Don’t repeat

Yes REALLY wandering what’s up with that.
Basically if the boardleash starts to pull there you pull one of the power lines by max 30-150cm. (Depends on the kite leash size which will limit the max travel of the safety line)
I would imagine that will put your kite into a position that, best case, makes it hard to keep it flying or, worse case, into a deathloop.
Unless I am missing something this seems like the absolute worst way of rigging a board leash?

(Obviously you shouldn’t use a leash, just wondering about this particular setup)

I don't think the "Pryde Club Mauritius " in is actually run by Neil Pryde, it's just the name they chose and the gear they stock.
