So many things to add to this video, as usual on these various self-launching and landing videos.
Just two.

On the sliding self- launch, if you move upwind about 20 degrees, the there will be no sliding of the kite and hence no damage to the leading edge.

Second, if you are in a place with flat water or tiny waves like this example, and the wind is strong, it is much safer to drift launch in the water.
