Even if I would add that it depends a bit from situation, taking decision with or without into overall risk management:
- if you are total beginner with dificulty in wing handling as flipping, it is better to first stay with the leash
- In cold water conditions, it can make sense to keep the leash as if the wing leash or the wing tube breaks you may not be able to reach the board and will be a lone without any floating object.
- and maybe also in bigger waves it can be better to keep the leash also to prevent your board runs into other people, not?
