Local Beach: Playa Malvin in downtown Montevideo.
Favorite Beaches: We are blessed with some great beaches here in Uruguay and, on occasion, some pretty epic conditions as well.
I enjoy kiteboarding anywhere I can in Uruguay be that in Montevideo, or at one of the many beaches, rivers or Laguna's further outside the city.
I've also been lucky enough to kite the North Coast of Brasil, Cabarete and Paracas in Peru.
Style: With a smile on my face
Gear: We have a great Ozone dealer here in Montevideo who gives excellent customer service, kite repairs and payment plans. So, of course I have a bunch of Ozone Kites. 3 Edges of different sizes and an Enduro. My board is also Ozone.

Trying my first big(ish) kiteloops at over 40

Postby Kiteboarding Uruguay » Mon Feb 15, 2021 3:51 pm

Hey dudes,

Finally grew a big enough pair to try some decent height kite loops. A few of these were at 7 or 8 meters (according to Woo) and I can't wait to get conditions where I can try them again!

Take a look if you've got a minute free!

Cheers,

Nick

Learning to loop at 40 sucks.

It also gets a lot worse when you start going bigger and trying to get the kite lower. The crashes happen at speed and hurt. Good luck.

Good going, Nick. Stay safe. I'm 65 and will never kite loop, having watched three guys nearly die doing it, all saved only because there were lots of other kiters and spectators around to rescue them, otherwise they would each have drowned.
