hank you to Ewan Jaspan for sharing his insight on surf foiling, kite foiling, and wing foiling on the Naish JET and Naish JET HA series of hydrofoil wings.

I took out the Moses 1000 for kite session and I felt I started surfing down that tiny 2 feet swell. With AR of 10.1 it wasn’t turning as easy as my other wings but surfing capabilities were amazing.

So far I can generalize foil geometry into few simple observations:
- wing area impacts lowend and stall speed for given rider weight
- wing profile thickness impacts cruising speed and lift
- AR impacts glide, turning/pumping ability and roll stability
- fuselage length almost doesn’t matter
- HA stabilizers are almost always a better choice
- stabilizers with winglets add significant yaw stability
- wing LE arrowhead-shape improves seaweed resistance

Can't agree with that.

Before I bought my present foil, I demoed a bunch of gear and when I'd narrowed down wing and stab configuration, I tried them with regular, Short and Ultra-short fuselages: 76.5, 68 and 62.5cm respectively.

Went with the Short because the Ultra-short was just too loose and twitchy for my tastes, while the Short is a nice compromise. Regular was noticeably more stable, and slower to react.
