Happy User here as well, I have two sets. Easier to click in and out, and much better when packing a foil kite without the chicken loop on the bar.

Wait for major manufacturers to steal this and sell it for 3 times the price.

There are already two small companies (in italy and russia) who have copied it and who are selling their own version. Seems a shame, but I guess patent costs are too high/complicated

Yes, sadly too much hassle and costs to obtain and defend a worldwide patent so I chose to put it into the public domain for anyone to copy and improve upon.

Having too many novel ideas can be a curse sometimes.

Evan was nice enough to quickly respond to my email to confirm one problem - those of us who use a below-the-bar depower setup like the Slingshot Guardian cannot use this release. I have the guardian and seat harness to help compensate for my alligator arms. I had hoped to use this as well but no joy. (I do have a couple other bars so I may get it anyway, but they are backups and not my primary rig.)

Rethinking about it, you could put a Clamcleat between the ring and depower cord. But that will make for quite a bulky system below the bar with the only advantage of having one QR per harness. It won't be any shorter compared to the standard Slingshot guardian with slider loop I guess.
