So far I think the guys have been lucky.
Fingers crossed we will never hear anything that went wrong…but from personal experience I can only say everything can break or become loose…
Seriously....you think it's luck?!?
From the guy riding an 18 in 25+ knots and telling everyone that's fine as YOU have the skill and technique to do it safely....and then say something like that.

What a strange post.

Clearly doing loops like that is far more dangerous than kiting with a big kite.

Just to clarify my position. Riders are free to do whatever they want. It is just that I personally would prefer if they focused on different kinds of tricks. No judgement involved - just a prediction.

agreed.

Way different. Guess why I don't ride a small kite and do megaloops? Because it is safer?

I had all happening to me, including a kite stall half way when I was looping back then...luckily not 20m high, only about 8...

Trust me, you will prefer crashing with a big kite in 8 m than a small kite in 20 m height.

It has nothing to do with skill and technique.

Naaaa….. wait a few years. What we call now a mega loop will only be the first part of the real trick.
After the mega loop, the kiter will swing under the kite, far in front of it…. And then up again…

With a fifth line kite will be forced to invert and hindenburg with lots of speed, giving the kiter another massive pull up. -> completely up side down…. This will be a real kite Salto…. Not possible? Go talk to some old paraglider and talk with them about what was impossible in the first 20 years, and then go look at acro paragliding.

But back to topic: wow… massive kite Loop: can‘t wait to see this with 24meter lines!!!!
And yes : looks dangerous…..
what was the Name of the poor guy, getting to coma after the KOTA and a stalled kite?

The danger is in the rider, not in the kite or the conditions. If you need to risk it all to dare the devil, go for it. If you like playing safe, good for you. Each one to his own.

Lewis Crathern

Imagine Marc Jacob’s powered Megaloop where his kite almost stalled…amazing skill or kite or both…he landed it. But, if…
