No#1 stupidity. Alone, cold, trees and rocks everywhere and then also that terrible tiny launch spot, pff....

Bad judgment gambling life and kite and lucky only to lose one and not risk other people’s well-being as well - agree it’s a high risk spot for hazards but also nasty winds system….and no waves

Wind got stronger and stronger…. He changed to 5m… Situation already was risky. He took the risk fully aware, that it is not a smart Idea to go.

From other videos it looks like this is the only spot around, so even if it is a shitty launching they all go there.

Somebody should have told him it is a stupid idea to go.

Side story: two weeks ago I got amazing conditiones:
Two 2 meter clean waves, 45degree side of wind, 4 degree Celsius, rain, nobody outside, wind really gusty
-> did not even think about going.

But while standing on the beach, two surfers told me: „do not go - it‘s dangerous, because offshore“. Big respect to them telling me.

I agree, better to stay at home in conditions like that.

Imagine how many good sessions you will miss for a shitty session like that if things go wrong…

I have a 5m, for teaching the kids primarily, but also to be able to go out when the wind is crazy strong. I would have assumed that I handling a 5m would be possible at least up to 50 knots, so I could have definitely been that guy ;) . I don't see anything in this clip I don't imagine happening elsewhere.
