The most dangerous beach?

Postby Marcel Surf Life » Thu Dec 16, 2021 8:05 pm

Hey folks,

I try to improve my YouTube episodes continuously :D . This time we are at "the most dangerous beach"... most probably not  . Take that more as a joke, but in my opinion it's definitely a tricky spot and you should know the conditions. Do you know other tricky spots and what is the danger level of this spot from 1 - 10? I'd say 8.

Anyway, enjoy watching... :thumb:

That looked like a danger level 2 to me. Nice sandy launch and land, heaps of room. Not too windy. small waves.... no boulders jutting out of the water or cliffs inshore........

Not even close to dangerous.

Try this for size. You launch in a paddock with buildings upwind with turbulent rotor. You then clamber down a cliff and walk through the boulder infested water while you kite tries to drop out of the sky because its cross off wind, with a cliff upwind The surf break is upwind and direct inshore is barnicle encrusted rocks and cliff. Wind is 30+ knots and swell is FB.

Now that is difficult shit.

This was my home beach for many years. Windy most mornings.

I agree this is not what I would consider dangerous. It is Flag Beach and probably one of the easier Spots on Fuerteventura. Had you gone elsewhere on the island you could have found tricky spots. But this? Not really.

Generally speaking your video is a pita. The title is obviously click bait, the video does pretend to be some kind of a spot check (which it isn't), the thumbnail suggest some analytics (but there ain't any). So yeah, what I learned here is that I won't watch another video of yours. (Although riding and video material doesn't seem all bad, it is the vibe that kills it for me.)

Marcel neglected to mention that there are two easy sandy areas to walk out between the reef. Only the idiots walk on the rocks. Also at high tide all those rocks are about 2m under water.

Here a reminder of what Flag is like when it is high tide :-)
