My impression is that the wind is much less strong in Kevin Langeree's jump in Cape Town than Jamie Overbeek's in the Netherlands ( a bit hard to tell from the Instagram quality clip). I worry about young guys like Jamie pushing the envelope too far - something goes wrong in those conditions and the consequences could easily be fatal.

Keep fingers crossed for these guys...so far no one had gear failure? I had several gear broken, so did many other users on here.

I remember once I did a kiteloop while a strut had no more air. Kite stopped half way...and I was maybe 8m high, can't imagine in 20m height.

Good luck to everyone going that way. Make sure your gear is new and not worn.

This is why my high wind gear gets changed out yearly now. New bar and new kite. Everything else is 2 year cycle. Might have to think extending the life cycle with the way gear prices are increasing though. The good thing for the pro's is they get new gear every season so failures from wear are less likely.
