Great spot to surf!
It’s like launching a kite in onshore winds in front of obstacles…asking for problems.
And they need a big surf tow in jetski driver…they come in hot, get surfer on board and the hell out of it.

I recall that some lifeguards are using drones to drop flotation devices to swimmers in peril. The article below is from 2018 in Australia. It's a whole lot quicker and can save lives. Should be standard equipment for lifeguards where surf is heavy and access is limited.

Should be titled ‘half of a dramatic surf rescue’…

Interesting post. Would like to know the final reacue strategy. Go out past breaking waves?, Go side shore until a safer exit point. The 2 nd Lifeguard did not look like as strong a Swimmer as the first Lifeguard. Why put 2 Lifeguards in when JetSki support was also coming? Always something to learn from other peoples mistakes

Also curious as to the whole story - assume tow to side away from strong shore break. As per above why send in two lifeguards when the jet ski could get there quicker and more safely.

This is one of those rescues where everyone is having a good time.Everyone was excellent at swimming and in no trouble. As for why send in two more swimmers why not. If they had a helicopter they would have sent that too.

Probably for experience, these guys don't get to perform rescues like this all that often so it's nice to get both guys some experience in a real world rescue scenario.

Hmm, I don't see a rescue in that video? Several guys swimming. One JetSki riding around them. No drama, or did I miss something?
