Wow, alot of negative feedback here. I seem to remember alot of this being said about kites back in the day. Cant go upwind, dangerous, Ill keep my windsurfing gear for high wind blah blah. Here we all are 20 years on. Foils have suddenly reinvented what is possible on the water. Im glad that there are people exploring what they can do because one of these ideas could reinvent the world. We are just scratching the surface at the moment.

Totally agree, where is the spirit that made us leave the booms for the bars?

You want that same spirit to help you back to a boom?

Pessimist is not usually my thing, but I really cant see the draw. Would rather foil with a trainer kite unhooked than carry that thing. Like that clip on FB of Kai doing essentially the same thing but with a strange wing suit instead of hand held wing. It just lacks the efficiency we already enjoy with a bunch of in your face stuff we just managed to evolve away from a couple decades ago.

Might be some peoples bag, but I have other plans for my fun money.

I also agree - lets explore the possibilities and see if it will work or not, instead of just dissing it immediately because it is "different"

I think I have seen pictures of this in Naish and Slingshot graphics.
Maybe some one with the patent is doing the marketing rounds.
Maybe it it self furled back into a boom that morphed into a Sup paddle.
Then Ala click bar it gamechanged back into the wing

My guess is that this is the main application for the wing - ride upwind - flag the wing out to ride the wave - tack again and ride upwind to catch the next wave.
