while its universally accepted that the umbrella is the undisputed king of sup foilsurfing with wind assistance fun...
...i believe the new inflatable pineapples have potential.
while it may lack the higher speed stability of an umbrella(or even a carrot)
...the low end of a pineapple is really impressive.
it has the potential to be the next big thing...

Mary frikin Poppins!
This thread and controversy on these has got to be more than the MFG's could have ever hoped for, as far as advertising.
a rising tide lifts all boats bro..
all those gremlins out there with money in their pockets...they'll buy our pointless crap bc we put it on the gram...and make nice vids on myface.
i mean between these stringless kites and my surf umbrellas and foiled pants...
this whole downwind thing will be banking bro
do you guys think unhooked launch is safer with umbrella ?
what would be a proper umbrellas quiver for a 200 lbs rider riding only in narrow wind range of 6-49 knots?
I'd assume that a pumping rider is hell of advanced so he should be able to change direction or stop abruptly which diminishes his right of way. nice to know
The umbrella has a tendency to invert in high winds. The pineapple has a definite advantage in case the wind drops you can sun yourself on top of it as you drift with the tide.

So umbrella needs octa-ripstop, lots of Dacron and proper bridle expert. How else would it cost $1400?
Pinapple is obviously no match for its ram air version, but self-rescue is a good argument.
