The Video Above is with the wind blowing from the back of the wave.

The wing is only in front of you if you are not going fast enough. You can see it stall a bit when I slow down to let the Windsurfer pass.

That's very impressive then :thumb:

I find that kites cannot handle onshore wind and foil wave riding. They all fall out of the sky and you send a lot of time worrying about the kite and not on wave riding.

From your videos I assume you're no longer with flysurfer, but did you get a chance to ride the peak4? It really is a game changer in this respect.

You have onshore wind - and wave push you to the shore faster than wind - NO KITE - will fly. Look at his wing - its behind him. So he is riding much faster than wind.
Im biggest Peak4 fan. But this is definitive not possible with kite

correct. winging it provides another dimension of foiling freedom and fun especially in waves but also for many other conditions where kiting and kitefoiling is sketchy or just isn't fun. Just try it but beware its extremely addictive

I don't really see it as a game changer. Sure it's a very well built kite and nice to fly, but in the end it's still just a single skin kite. It does not really work any better than other single skin kites when foiling.

@Gunnar: Did you quit foiling with ultra short lines on sup? Was it only one try? It could be interesting in places with flat water and small launching space and also offshore winds. For me I see only a benefit with winging in unbroken waves, and unfortunately we have not these situation here.

I did it quite a lot, until I got the Wing. The Wing is just a lot easier in all conditions and even less to worry about on waves.

That is Balz using his windfoil board with the rearset footstraps. All he has done is removed the sail and used a wing.
I guess we all wish we had those conditions.

As impressive at it is as i dont get it. You can do 100x more in those condition with just ordinary kite and twintip... There are conditions where wingwing work 100x better than any kite just not this one :)
