I've ridden the Moses 1000 now 2 days in a row and I must say it is by far the most epic foil I've ridden. Here is a quick review...

Comes up on foil quickly and easily. Very, very balanced at speed. Hums like no other (I've heard I need to tune it). Pumps like no other. I am nearly to the point where I can pump it indefinitely and don't need the wing anymore. Getting a lot closer. Never thought that was possible although I see it in vidoes. Roll is terrible - takes some getting used to. Terrible in the sense that it doesn't roll as easily as my 790 or more surf oriented foils, or at least it is much stiffer (no kidding, right?). By the second day I was able to ride without falling for over an hour, jibing continuously, so it just takes some getting used to. What I like is when jibing, rather than making a tight radius turn you simply widen the arc, but the glide and speed make is so on the big arc you can park the wing, fix your hair, move that leash out of the way, turn and look at the beach to make sure no one is messing with your vehicle, flip the wing, then power the wing. The glide is just amazing. If you want to get playful you have to work the yaw instead of the roll.

Of all the foils I've ridden the 1000 is now my go to foil. Super fast, incredible glide and pumpability. I will be swapping out my 72mast for one longer because I did start breaching the wingtip from time to time. But I love this foil!

How much do you weigh and what volume board are you using for wingfoiling?

Joe, awesome info about w1000!

I weigh the same as you.

Two questions from wingsurfing POV:
1) how do you find the low end of the w1000 compared to the other Moses wings you have? Moses rates the low end of w1000 very high, but hard to imagine it would be on par with 790 with 1550cm2 compared to w1000 with 987cm2?!?
2) for very small onshore swell, no long lines of swell, but more swell wave here and there, what kind of front wing would you choose? I would like to be able to turn like I do with 633 when kiting, but can you get away with these much longer span wings in these conditions?
And 3) how sharp are the tips of the wings, and what back wing do you use with w1000?

Thanks a million, your feedback is highly appreciated!

Sometimes is difficult to understand they winging or kiting when writting impression on wings 800 or 1000 or others. And to understand it you need to read some past their reviews to understan what exactly they did with this wing.
Please specify it in your every bigger comment or review of these Moses wing. Also plea more 800/1000 reviews on kite using (not winging).

Hey there OMG-

It is easy to find the low end of the 1000. I just slow down till I drop off foil. It has incredible low end - not as low as the 873 or 1100, but so close it isn't noticeable. I would say it has 90-95% of the low end as those other mentioned foils.

Better low end for sure than the 790. I know it sounds off, but more low end for sure. Still, it is splitting hairs because I can go at crawling speed with all those foils if I want. They all have great low end.

I too try to match the 633 foil for winging - to get the same carving feeling I get when kite foiling. I've even ridden the 633 winging many times. The 633 does not work winging like it does for kiting for me. And, none of the foils I've tried so far match that carve - mainly because the speeds are slower and the foils are bigger. Carving is improving on all the bigger winging foils, but carving with a kite on a smaller foil always seem way, way easier.

Hard to say which foil is best for your conditions. I've adjusted to the 1000 and really, really like it. I can pump it further than all the others which I like. But the 1100 and 873 seem to glide better on swell more slowly where I don't have to pump. The 1000 doesn't glide quite as well without being pumped, if that makes sense. But I'm still sorting that out being that conditions are always a little different when I go out.

The foil tips are sharp! I already axed my 2.8 wing, both the front and rear foils when straight thru! Heartbreaker!

I'm using the 425 stabilizer currently. I tried the 330 and 420. I ordered the 400 but it isn't in yet. I use the 380 on all my other foils (1100,873,790,633,683,695 for winging)...

I notice more of an impact with stabilizers for kiting than winging. When kiting, your speed is much higher so the stab has more of an impact on the main foil. For winging it just seems to have less of an impact due to slower speeds. When I used to swap stabs kite foiling the difference was night and day. Not so much with winging when I try different stabs.
