Mast position on Armstrong board

I’m 3 sessions new to winging. I’m 90kg and have been kitefoiling for 5 years.
Flying Ozone Wasp 5m on Armstrong 99l board with 85cm mast on 1850HS foil with 232HS stab.
Wind was patchy with few gusts to upper teens, but only lasting few, precious seconds. I’m able to water start to standing and then increase board speed by feeble pumping, but could not get board to clear water. I’m strapless and have feet where board seems to feel best as it moves on water. The mast is 2 cm from front end of mast tract.
Do I go all the way forward?
Is it just that I was just underpowered for my skill?
It felt so close. I was trying to move rear foot more aft to help with board pump, which seemed to help.
Any advice would be great.
