Moses stabilizers choice in complete foils

Postby BOEMIX » Sat Dec 26, 2020 3:33 pm

I''m looking forward to buy a high wind foil to complement my tortuga combo, as I still have the "soft" 71 kite mast for winging.

The biggest concern is that if you look a compatibility chart i found online, most front wings work best with 450 stab, but if you buy the whole complete foil, they come with 483 stab... so...why? Is for selling an extra stab plus the combo to get everything right? I just can't understand that, I'ts so weird.

My choice would be the 679 that also comes with the stiffer 72 mast, bug again, it says it comes with 483 stab, and the ideal stab is 450...

483 is a good stabilizer, I liked the 450 better but I had to shim it up too to keep stance manageable. Couple of friends ride 679 with 425 stabilizer and they love it.
Some dealers would mix/match you set as you want it and still get you a “set discount”

I think Moses updated some complete packages from coming standard with the 450 to now coming with the 483. Likely because the 450 is a slow dog and sucks the life out of the foil. The 483 is much faster.

You need to shim 450 up to make it faster, yet with damage-proof wingtips and more stable than 483

A faster option is 425 and is pretty good too
