8-10 is not enough wind to get on the foil as a beginner... 15-20 kn will be better.JakeFarley wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 10:44 pmHad my 4th session yesterday in nominal winds (8-10 knots). I am getting up faster on my feet but could not fly on the foil. One funny thing happened when I climbed on the board. My board shorts came untied and went down to my knees. Fortunately I was wearing compression shorts underneath. I'm sure some beach goers saw me as I was about 50' from the shore when it happened. Next time I will double tie my board shorts.
It takes some technique to get on the foil in light wind... once on the foil you keep on going... also big wings are not as easy to handle as small wings...
