Postby nayy » Mon May 31, 2021 8:27 pm

Those are hard attempts! Hopefully there will be Moses wings thinner than 1100 for pumping

Those are good attempts! Hopefully there will be Moses wings thinner than 1100 for pumping
that wing is quite thin compared to the F-one mirage 1000 by example...

Get someone to hold the board for you and jump on it with some more speed. Rear foot should land on the board first. Don't jump too high, just a tad above the board and let it foil straight for a few meters before you start pumping.

Watch this video, all well explained:

Last week we tried dock start pumping the W1100 with some friends... was a huge laugh!

The 1100 is very thin profiled for it's chord. That is why it is not so easy to pump at slow speed and needs good technique. Thinner profiles will make it even harder.

Yet 1100 is the thickest Moses profile right after discontinued 873. For some reason I thought thinner profiles, like 1000 wing are the best pumping, best gliding.

Did you find new wings 799/940/945/950 easier to pump?

At high speeds you would be correct. The 1000 is amazing to pump, if you can keep the speed over 10 knots, which is difficult when dockstarting.

I have not tried the 799 or 945 yet. But from what I have been told the 945 should be a good pumping wing. The 940 is not the best pumper at low speeds. Like the 1000 you need to keep the speed high for it to pump well.

A slow speed pumping wing which is good for dockstarting needs a very low stall speed and good acceration. Usually medium thickness profiles combined with a mid to high AR work well and are easier for dockstarting. So far the best wings I have tried for dockstarting are the Indiana 1100P and the Axis 1300
