Race wingfoil: Moses SabFoil w800 and w1000

Postby Jyoder » Mon Jul 12, 2021 5:44 pm

Thinking of getting an 800 or 1000 front wing to put on my Comet 637/421 kitefoil for a race wingfoil setup. Both wings fit the kite fuselage I understand.

Currently, I wingfoil on an old SS infinity 84 setup on mostly bay chop and occasional wind swell and I’m ready to ditch the learner gear and get something fast so I can be the next Johnny Heineken. 😂 😂

I don’t jump and I ride strapless, but I’m a little concerned the 1000 might be too much for the 2018 111cm mast. I’m 77kg.

Should I be concerned? I dearly love my Comet kitefoil and would be devastated if I destroy it by using too big a wing.

i got the 800 wing the moment it became available for purchase and kept riding it with 425 stabilizer for quite a while.
It’s awesome and fast, the only imperfection I had to fix initially was quick sandpaper job on trailing edge to eliminate singing.
I’m 205 lbs, I was kiting on it and I can recommend it 10/10
Fits kite fuselage

As much as I’d love to, I don’t have 3K+ in the budget for a Mike’s lab… goal would be to use the kitefoil for kiting and winging by just swapping front wing.

The 1000 is easier for Winging and only marginally slower than the 800. I used the 1000 in the Spanish Wingfoil Tour and smoked everyone around the course. I used the 101 Mast, which is a bit too soft, but faster than the surf masts. The 111 should be fine as its a high modulous carbon mast.

I am reaching peak vmax speeds on the 1000 of 36 knots on the wing so it should be fast enough for you.

Would the 82cm carbon mast be better on the 1000 than the 91cm?

Is the 91cm mast stiff enough for the 800 wing for kite foiling?

If you want stiffness then the 82 or the 92 is better. If you want minumum drag, then the 91 is better.
