No. It is quite a bit smaller. It needs more power and speed to get going than the 950. The 1000 is a lot faster, more agile and ventilation resistant than the 950.

I didn't read all the replys. But, I did have both the 800 and 1000.
I'm not going to bash slingshot - it is really good introductory gear for sure - I learned on it.
But the difference when you go to those foils (or most high end foils) will be night and day. Lots of added performance.
