Last week I spoke to 2 people who had a problem with the Ensis V2 with handles getting detached with normal use.
Today I had it with my V2 4.5 meters when tacking, suddenly the front handle detached. Didn't use a lot of force, just normal handling. (I just was lucky to be close at shore.)
I only had mine for 3 weeks so they should give guarantee. But repairing etc. takes a lot of time so it sucks anyhow. And now I'm getting worried about the other Ensis 5.2 I have.
Hearing this from 2 others as well, this seems to me like they have a quality issue. Just wondering if others encountered the same problem.
I'm would be happy to hear.
Cheers

Everyone I know who has Ensis V2s has ripped the handles off at least one of theirs.

So its a quality issue. Not the Rolex of wings.
Quite bad to endanger people with poor designed essential parts.
I will warn other potential buyers.

Use a harness. Pulls from the middle, handles don’t fail.

I just got a reaction from Ensis. They say it is a known problem! In that case you shoudnt sell them, you potential bring buyers in danger. Especially in full sea if there is no rescue available. They should warn the buyers and recall all the sold ones. Probably the go bankrupt when they do, so they keep silent in hope nobody rings the bell. I will discuss this with my shop where I bought the wings if they are aware of it they should stop selling them.

I dont like using a harness. And it shouldnt be necessary to be able to use a wing.

I don't really know what comes with the Ensis wings, but most products come with a discharge of liability, and a disclaimer clearly stating that you shouldn't venture further out than what you're prepared to swim if the shit hits the fan. Never forget that a perfectly built wing can quickly become a victim of your foil. The stab is aptly named...

I agree that this disclaimer helps them. But doesn't dismiss them or the resellers to warn potential buyers that this product probably has a defect.
